The Partnership Mirror
Most tools in this library are filled in alone. The Mirror only works in pairs — and that is the method, not a limitation. The Partnering Initiativ’ partnership review template recommends explicitly that each side assess the partnership separately, and only then that the two assessments be placed side by side. The gap between the two pictures is the finding.
How it works
The five axes, and where they come from
- Equity — who sits at the head of the table. From the partnering principles and from the joint steering committee model of Partnership2Gether.
- Transparency — what both sides actually know. Including whether a written partnership document exists.
- Mutual benefit — what each side puts in and receives. Including local investment, the clearest marker of ownership.
- Encounter — the people who actually meet. From the mifgash research and the findings on home hospitality and shared Shabbat.
- Continuity — what survives a change of leadership. From the city-partnership literature on alliance capability.
When to run it
Three moments where it works best: in a joint steering committee meeting; on a video call before planning the year, so the plan starts from a picture rather than a wish list; and on the day of a delegation visit, as an opening instead of a round of introductions.
Your data stays with you
There is no server and no account. Answers are saved in the browser of whoever fills them in, and the code that passes between the sides contains the name, the side and the answers, and nothing else. You can print the joint picture and attach it to the minutes.
Tomorrow morning
Fill it in alone, five minutes, and send the code across with one line: "we filled in a short tool about our partnership. Fill it in too, and let us compare." The follow-up conversation will schedule itself.
